In November 2005, at Webmasterworld.com's Pubcon in Las Vegas, Google Senior Engineer Matt Cutts told that whilst there was no sandbox per se, the Google algorithm may treat some new sites, under some circumstances, in a way that the webmaster would perceive as being sandboxed. For new site, there is always penalty from Google to avoid spammers.

Hi Kent,
Your post came in timely. Although most of my websites did not sufferred such a faith, some of my friends complaint to me of the drop in the ranking of their website.
However, I am getting an unsual sanboxed from google for my new blog put up 1 week ago. I am not sure why ?
