The Best Place to Learn Human Relationship
Where is your best place to learn human relationship? In companies? In churches? In seminars? Or in events?
My best place to learn human relationship is in market*.
(*Malaysians call "pasar" – a place where your grandmothers, your mothers or even you to buy grocery. Refer to the image below; you know what kind of market that I mention. Especially those markets in villages)
Each time, when I go to Ipoh (a town in Perak state), I like to follow my grandmother to go to a market near her house to learn human relationship. I realized that the relationship between sellers and buyers in the market is so close. My grandmother knows 90% sellers in the market. She even has close relationship with 70% of them. Some sellers even deliver their products to my grandmother's house WITHOUT any extra charges. They even advice my grandmother what to cook for her breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Since there are few food stalls in the market. Sellers and buyers would sit together to enjoy breakfast in the morning. They share their life stories, their family matters, gossip, etc. They don't have huge gap in between. The trust in between sellers and buyers are very strong. They enjoy their conversations.
Sellers in the market focus on relationship more than money. They give discount and freebies to buyers. And sometimes, buyers don't even mind to pay more to sellers (I was shocked when a buyer was willing to pay more). Don't you think this is the human relationship that we should apply for our social media marketing campaign?
When did your last time follow your grandmother or your mother to markets? Why not allocate your time to follow them to markets? You will learn a lot on build genuine human relationship, which you can use it for your company.
