Yesterday early morning. I received a SMS from Malaysian ruling party - Barisan Nasional. - "Greetings 1Malaysia. The Parliament has been dissolved. Choose Malaysia. Vote Barisan Nasional." The reason I received the SMS because Malaysia General Election is coming on 5th May 2013.

SMS is part of its marketing strategies. But they make two very big mistakes.

- 1st mistake - They spammed my phone. Without my permission they got my number and sent unwelcome SMS. They do not know how to respect people.
- 2nd mistake - They force people to vote rather than influence people to vote

As an internet marketer, I believe in influence people rather than forcing people to make buying decision. I am wondering that Will Barisan Nasional learn in Malaysian General Election 13?

 

LinkedIn rolled out a great feature (if we use it correctly). You now can mention your connections in your conversations. This feature helps us to engage our connections easily rather than we need to send message to each other. :)

How does it work?
- Begin by typing the name of a connection or a company in your status update box or a comment field on the Homepage.
- Select someone from the list of your connections that appear in the drop-down, complete your status or comment and post it.
- The person or company you mentioned will receive a notification alerting them that they have been mentioned.

Again, just a gentle reminder that LinkedIn is a professional networking site. Don't simply mention your connections if you have nothing important to say and to share. If you do, you will destroy your relationship and reputation.

I received a spammed email from an email marketing company (it is a World Class Training & Consultancy, British Standards & High Quality) to get its customers. What will they teach their students? How to send British Standars & High Quality spammed emails?

Global Web Index did a mobile research on 31 countries. The stats below show in some countries mobile makes over 30% of internet time. Malaysia has almost 20% until today. The most interesting is when comes to multi-tasking or second screen, mobile ranks second after laptop PC.

The question is - are you ready for the mobile world?
