Facebook is the largest social networking site in the world. It is now a public company, and its revenue and advertising plans are under significant scrutiny. If you invest in Facebook, I believe you need to know if Facebook users click on ads or "Like" your brands? Below are two stats from eMarketer.
From the pie chart above, 44% of Facebook worldwide users never click on ads (I am one of them). While 31% rarely click on ads. Another 13% never use Facebook. So, the total of Facebook users don't click on ads on Facebook is 88%. For me the number is definitey very high. So, the question is does Facebook able to sustain in long term?
Next, we study Do Facebook users "Like" your brands/companies?
26% of worldwide Facebook users does "Like" brands/companies on Facebook often and another 9% regularly "Like" brands/companies on Facebook. That means 66% of users never "Like" brands/companies. Compare to "Click on Ads", "Like" brands/companies perform better.
I don't highly recommend my customers to advertise on Facebook because in long term you will have to keep investing money to do advertising while Facebook Fan Page is free to use. If you really want to do Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising, it is better for you to use Google Adwords rather than Facebook Ads.
