Why Use Video Marketing to Engage Your Facebook Fans
Most Malaysians prefer to watch videos rather than reading text, this is very true. And that is the reason why video marketing is very important. Below is one of the examples we proposed to use start video marketing to help my customer to engage their fans.
My customer runs beauty saloon in Malaysia. We started by blogging beauty tips and tricks. But the response was not so good until we used video to engage their fans. As you can see the graphs from Facebook, the viral reach incresed 655% only in one day!!!


I have to say, video marketing is very effective to use in Malaysia. But bear in mind that your video should longer than 2 - 3 minutes because people is getting impatient.

Facebook Fan Page Timeline Milestone and Pin to Top
On 30th March 2012, Facebook will launch Facebook Timeline to all Fan Pages. There are two features which can help social media marketers to help their customers to do marketing even more effectively, which I want to highlight. And it proves that with these two features, Facebook does put heavy focus on business fan page.
Pin to Top
When I first changed the old layout to new layout (Facebook Timeline), I really didn't like it. But after I discovered Pin to Top feature, it changed my mindset.

Facebook Pin to Top is a feature which you can pin any topics on your Facebook Fan Page to move to the top for 7 days. Let say if you have an event, import services and products or important annoucement to highlight, this is a great feature. Each time your users login to your Fan Page, they will see this first. This is especially useful for event.

Milestone
While Facebook Milestone is a key moment you want to highlight in wide screen. Like the one below.

Again, if you have an event, you can highlight your event so that your Facebook users can view it. I use this feature to highlight great Lego creations from fans on Malaysia Lego Club.

Malaysian Facebook users hit 12 millions. Check out some interesting statistics below from social bakers.

Facebook users in Malaysia has 46.10% of penetration rate compared to the country population and 71.35% in relation to numbers of internet users.

Age from 18 - 24 has the most users followed by age 25 - 34.

Male users is more than female users.

What You Can Do with Facebook Timeline
What you can do with Facebook newly launched feature Timeline?
When the first time I tried Facebook Timeline, I love the Cover (the banner position above your Facebook Timeline profile) and timeline (at the right hand side of your Facebook Timeline profile).
1st - I Can Easily Manage All My Previous Posts and Conversations.

Now, I can easily manage posts, images, videos and conversations by using the timeline at the right hand side of my Facebook new profile page. It makes me easier to engage and talk to my friends, family, co-workers, etc. Building relationship is easier compared to old Facebook profile page.
2nd - Market Yourself on Cover of My Profile Page
You can put any image you want on the Cover area.

I simply put an image to introduce who I am and my website links on Cover (the image below).

So far, these are the two features that I discovered and love to position myself as an internet marketing consultant.

How to Manage Your Word of Mouth Marketing Campaign on Facebook
Facebook just launched a very powerful feature when people share your content (video, status, images, etc), which I think it is a great feature to manage your word of mouth marketing campaign as well.
Please look at the two images below. As you can see, I have posted an interesting video on my personal Facebook profile wall.

When my friends on Facebook shared the video, I can view who shared the video by clicking the "View all 7 Shares" and a new windows new pop up to view a list of people who shared the video.

You can even view comments, view who share again and leave your comments. From business point of view, it is a great feature to engage potential customers or even to do customer services.
Imagine if you produced a produce video goes viral. People on Facebook spread your video all over Facebook. Some of them ask where they can get the product, how the product works, etc. With this feature, you can answer their questions easily without browsing and searching on Facebook. You can even use this feature to invite people to your Facebook Fan Page, invite people to your website, etc. The most important is, those who share your video can be considered are targeted market because most probably for those who share your video are already interested in your product.
The reason I am so excited about this feature because word of mouth marketing is still the most powerful marketing strategy online.According to a survey done by Nielsen, most people loyal to a brand because of word of mouth marketing. And, this new feature helps marketers to manage their word of mouth marketing campaign online more accurate then before! Don't you think so?
By the way, another good news is, this feature also available for Facebook Fan Page.
